Special Lighting® Limited Lifetime Warranty
At Special Lighting®, we believe products engineered for the toughest environments deserve a warranty that reflects our confidence in their design, performance, and durability.
Every lighting system we manufacture is built using premium materials, precision optics, high-quality electronic components, and rigorous quality control standards to deliver dependable performance in the most demanding conditions.
For this reason, Special Lighting® proudly provides a Limited Lifetime Warranty for eligible products purchased directly from Special Lighting® or through our authorized dealers.
Warranty Coverage
This warranty covers defects in materials, components, and workmanship under normal operating conditions.
If Special Lighting® determines, after technical inspection, that a product has failed due to a manufacturing defect covered under this warranty, we will, at our sole discretion:
- Repair the product.
- Replace the product with the same model.
- Replace the product with an equivalent or upgraded model if the original product has been discontinued.
Replacement products may be new or factory-refurbished and will provide equal or greater performance than the original product.
Recreational Use Coverage
Products used on privately owned vehicles for recreational and personal use are covered by our Limited Lifetime Warranty, or until the product reaches its nominal design service life, estimated at 50,000 operating hours under normal use, whichever occurs first.
Commercial Use Coverage
Products used in commercial or heavy-duty applications—including but not limited to:
- Construction
- Mining
- Agriculture
- Fleet vehicles
- Government agencies
- Emergency response vehicles
- Utility vehicles
- Industrial equipment
- Rental fleets
- Any other continuous-duty commercial application
are covered by a Five (5) Year Limited Warranty, or until the product reaches its nominal design service life of 50,000 operating hours, whichever occurs first.
Warranty Eligibility
To qualify for warranty coverage, the following conditions must be met:
- The claimant must be the original purchaser.
- The product must have been purchased directly from Special Lighting® or an authorized dealer.
- Proof of purchase is required.
- The product must have been installed and operated according to the installation instructions provided by Special Lighting®.
- The product must not have been modified, disassembled, or repaired by any unauthorized person or service provider.
Products purchased through unauthorized sellers, second-hand marketplaces, auctions, or private-party sales are not eligible for warranty coverage.
Warranty Exclusions
This warranty does not cover failures or damage resulting from:
- Vehicle accidents or collisions.
- Impact from rocks, debris, branches, or other external objects.
- Improper installation.
- Vehicle electrical system modifications.
- Incorrect voltage, power surges, or electrical overload.
- Reverse polarity.
- Improper wiring.
- Water intrusion resulting from improper installation, physical damage, or misuse.
- Abuse, misuse, negligence, or improper maintenance.
- Unauthorized modifications, repairs, or product disassembly.
- Normal wear and tear.
- Gradual reduction in LED light output resulting from normal component aging.
- Cosmetic damage including scratches, fading, discoloration, oxidation, or surface corrosion that does not affect product functionality.
- Exposure to chemicals, solvents, or corrosive substances.
- Fire, flooding, lightning, earthquakes, or other natural disasters.
- Any use outside the intended purpose for which the product was designed.
Warranty Claims
Before returning any product, customers must contact the Special Lighting® Customer Support Team to initiate a warranty claim.
To assist with the evaluation process, customers may be asked to provide:
- Proof of purchase.
- Product model information.
- Photographs of the product.
- Videos demonstrating the issue.
- A detailed description of the problem.
- Vehicle information.
- Installation details.
- Any additional technical information necessary to properly diagnose the reported issue.
Special Lighting® reserves the right to perform diagnostic procedures before approving any warranty repair or replacement.
Shipping
Unless otherwise authorized by Special Lighting®, customers are responsible for shipping products to the designated warranty service facility.
For approved warranty claims, Special Lighting® will cover the cost of return shipping of the repaired or replacement product.
Limitation of Liability
Special Lighting®’s sole obligation under this warranty is limited to the repair or replacement of the covered product.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Special Lighting® shall not be liable for any:
- Installation or removal labor costs.
- Transportation expenses.
- Towing charges.
- Vehicle downtime.
- Loss of vehicle use.
- Loss of income or profits.
- Incidental damages.
- Indirect damages.
- Consequential damages.
- Damage to other vehicle components or accessories.
Some jurisdictions do not allow limitations on certain damages; therefore, these limitations may not apply in every location.
Warranty Transfer
This warranty is non-transferable and applies exclusively to the original purchaser.
Legal Rights
This warranty provides specific legal rights. Depending on your state, province, or country of residence, you may also have additional legal rights that vary by jurisdiction.
Policy Updates
Special Lighting® reserves the right to modify or update this warranty policy at any time. Any revisions will apply only to products purchased after the effective date of the updated policy. Products purchased before that date will remain covered under the warranty terms that were in effect at the time of purchase.
